During session III, while we were waiting for Darabka to show up, we were talking about what we would end up doing if the DM was a no show for some reason. What we came up with was a plan B session where I would run a separate campaign totally off the cuff. And to make it different, this would be a futuristic thing set totally in space. It would have been sloppy to say the least, but I have some Alternaty manuals so I -Might- have been able to pull it off.
I know some people can't make it into the regular campaign because it is growing, and I want some more experience as a DM, so what if I set up a separate game for second stringers.
Thoughts?

This is a very cool idea! I wanted to try out anyway the other expansions made for Microlite20. I am planning making another group in the same campaign for those who missed it, because it was thursday (Cendoo, Adam, Kitty and Balzak) and maybe adding one or two people. This Sci Fi campaign would be cool, because I could take a break off DMing and be a player, sign me up. If you need any help with preparing contact me. Here is a couple of expansions you can use for your sci-fi campaign: Microlite20 Spacecraft (Spaceships for the Campaign) www.microlite20.net/node/73-Microlite20 Mecha (Giant Robots in space? No problem!) www.microlite20.net/node/80-Microlite20 Psionics (for those Mindwarping Aliens) www.microlite20.net/node/123-Microlite20 NPC Generator www.microlite20.net/chgowiz/m20cg/m20npcg.php-Microlite20 Martial Arts (Space Ninjas with Laser-Katanas? No problem!) -Microlite20 Anthropomorpic Animal Races (as Aliens) www.microlite20.net/node/69www.microlite20.net/node/76Check it out post your thoughts.

YES!! Thanks so much for those links. I looked around the microlite site looking for space material but all I could find was the Micolite20 Modern manual. I'm glad I wont have to generate all that stuff myself.
Yeah it would probably help if you were in the game since I'm somewhat green at DMing. An experienced player might help things go smoothly. I figure that leaves two slots open for players.

So basically what I'm going to do is, everyone can sign up for the sci-fi world, but only three players will be around per session and we can rotate. More info as it develops.

I rounded up all the space materials I had and went
over it in conjunction with Microlite20 Modern and
came up with some stuff. I now have 4 races and 4
classes to choose from. Here are some loose
descriptions
-=RACES=-
Human: Good with weapons. Humans can use all weapon types
despite class restrictions.
Droid: Highly sophisticated huminoid droids. Unlike our
popular fiction, droids can't hold up in combat.
However, they dominate anything inteligence related.
Droids also have modular arms and a chest module
where items can be implanted. (I.E. gun arms, etc
etc.)
Cyborg: In this game, any human part can be replaced aside
from the brain. Any human which is 25% tissue or less
is considered a cyborg. They have more physical
strength than humans, however, implants are heavy so
they are less agile and can be heard from far away.
Cyborgs have some modul options but not as many as
droids.
Tzin: Lion/Huminoids. (Think the dudes from Wing
Commander)Very strong and agile. Tzin are good
pilots. Otherwise, statistically they work like
barbarians.
-=Classes=-
-Pilot Can only use handguns (unless human), can
pilot Mechs and Spacecraft.
-Combat Specialist Can use any handweapon. Bonuses for operating
weapons on spacecraft
-Mechanic Can fix damaged spacecraft. Can act as a
field medic to droids. Can only use handguns (unless
human)
-Navigator
A NAVIGATOR IS REQUIRED FOR SPACE FLIGHT. (So
is a pilot) Navigators can hack into computers in a
tight situation.

Shame that my cyborg got spaced; Just wait 'till Griff the Droid hits the scene...then it won't work again.

Shame that my cyborg got spaced; Just wait 'till Griff the Droid hits the scene...then it won't work again. Yeah I know having a character die is always a pain. It must suck double hard for you since Aeon died also. However, if it's any consolation, the fact that death is a real threat is going to make it much more rewarding when you do something awsome like take down the empire or slice open a wolf man.
